Craftiness

Sunday, 27 February 2005 6:52 P GMT-05
Jill and I went to the American Craft Council show today. I try to go at least every-other year, mostly for inspiration (I seldom buy since the prices are really wild). Usually I pay most attention to jewelry, but this year, textiles caught my eye

Linc Was Hungry This Morning

Saturday, 26 February 2005 3:57 P GMT-05
Neal usually feeds the beasts at about 6 a.m., but we were lazy and slept in until 7:30. I was worried that Linc may have wet his bed, or worse, so went down with Neal to get breakfast ready and perhaps deal with cleanup. Neal gasped as he walked i

More Snow for Lolly

Thursday, 24 February 2005 2:27 P GMT-05
I swear, that gal musta conjured up this fresh batch of white stuff that's falling from the heavens right now. Or maybe it's the fact that I am wearing my "let it snow" underpants? (Sorry, there's no pic, but you're probably really glad!) Slav

Suddenly, I Feel MUCH Better!

Tuesday, 22 February 2005 1:26 P GMT-05
As if she could sense that I would have a bad beginning of the week, my fabulous, color-coordinated Secret Pal sent me a giftie! This cute pink accessory bag from Stitch Cafe filled with matching pink Susan Bates accessories: three cable needles of

Today's Mood - Not Much Better

Tuesday, 22 February 2005 11:18 A GMT-05
I decided that my client's site update is soooo extensive that I needed to take a day off to work on it. So I am out "sick" today. (Well, I still do have a raging sinus headache.) Thankfully, there's no screetching in the house; Neal is c

aaaaaaarrrgghhhhh!!!!

Monday, 21 February 2005 3:23 P GMT-05
I have the sinus headache from hell today. In addition, some women down the hall who shall remain nameless are screetching at the top of their lungs. They consider this "conversing." Sometimes the screetching gets so bad, I hear dogs barking in th

Minx Models

Sunday, 20 February 2005 1:17 P GMT-05
Here I am, wearing Klaralund. Ok, so you can only see a shoulder of it, but doesn't that look great? LOL! I didn't feel like fetching Neal to take the pic, and we don't have a full-length mirror. I promise I'll post another pic later, including m

Ta Dah!

Saturday, 19 February 2005 3:35 P GMT-05
Now what do we have here? Is that Klaralund in all her splendor, myriad ends needing to be sewn in? Why yes, that is Klara! Ain't she purty! Once I get all of those ends in, I'll model it for you. I'm sure it looks better on the floor though :)

Post Number Two

Wednesday, 16 February 2005 7:25 P GMT-05
I just gotta say that I am SO HAPPY with my dyed-to-match yarn for Clapotis!!! It's an incredibly close match, probably 90%. I already wound the hank into a ball (three actually) and I am going to work on my shawl tonight (after I do a few rows of

Miss Cellany

Wednesday, 16 February 2005 12:39 P GMT-05
Almost FO!! Well, I did get all of Klaralund done, she just needs to be blocked and seamed together. Maybe I'll do that tonight, but then again, maybe not. I had wanted to have it done for Thursday to wear to the next Meetup, but if I don't, that'

Sorry, No Pictures....

Sunday, 13 February 2005 6:58 P GMT-05
I took pictures of my burn - it hasn't started to blister yet - but I'm too lazy to edit/post them.  Plus, I have nothing else to show at the mo'.  I may get my Klaralund done tonight though, the body at least.  I'd still have to weave in the myri

The Scream....

Saturday, 12 February 2005 7:29 P GMT-05
...came from me. Perhaps you heard it? Apparently it is bad luck to not attend a restaurant dim sum for Chinese New Year and attempt to hold your own instead. We always have a stash of dumplings in the freezer, shu mai, har gow, the occasional cha

Fit to Be Tied

Friday, 11 February 2005 10:03 A GMT-05
I wound the two skeins of Berroco Denim Silk into balls on Wednesday night and cast on for Neal's tie last night during a double feature of CSI (an old episode on Spike and the new one on CBS). I wasn't entirely enamored of the tie patterns in the F

Happy New Year!

Wednesday, 9 February 2005 3:39 P GMT-05
Today is the first day of the Chinese New Year of the rooster. We were scheduled to have a celebratory dim sum this coming Saturday, but our plans got messed up by a communication issue. We hadn't been to New Fortune--in Gaithersburg, a good 60-70

Thank You, Sir Paul

Monday, 7 February 2005 2:30 P GMT-05
Immediately after the StuporBowl halftime show, Linc decided to take a dump. I chalk it up to the performance. That is not to say I do not like Paul McCartney; on the contrary, I have always been a fan and think this was the best SB halftime show i

The Albatross

Sunday, 6 February 2005 4:17 P GMT-05
Yes, sometimes I feel as if a project is an albatross hanging around my neck. But if you look at my status bars, you'll see that Tamiko's shawl is DONE! :::doing happy dance::: I worked on it several nights in the past week and deemed it finished a

And Yet More Yarn Shopping!

Saturday, 5 February 2005 6:54 P GMT-05
A Good Yarn, in Fells Point, is a nice store. It's tiny, and therefore has a small selection, but what they have is very nice. And it's not arranged by color! I picked up some yummy Blue Heron Yarns Cotton/Rayon seed in the colorway "Mossyplace."

Yarn and Stuff

Friday, 4 February 2005 7:21 P GMT-05
I got some nice comments on my Klaralund sleeves from Illanna and Lolly. Regarding getting the self-striping to match: pure luck. I didn't try to match the stripes at all. But they came out pretty well, not exactly perfect, but damn close enough!

I Keep Forgetting....

Thursday, 3 February 2005 11:59 P GMT-05
...to mention that I finally heard from the editors of KnitLit 3 and my story was indeed rejected. Oh well. No accounting for taste, I suppose. If you want to read it for yourself, here's a link to the Adobe Acrobat .PDF version. This is not

My Secret Pal ROCKS!

Wednesday, 2 February 2005 7:17 P GMT-05
I got home from work today to find a shiny chartreuse mailer waiting for me. In it were goodies from my Secret Pal: a tin of Altoids citrus sours; a package of "Hot Lines" note cards; a metal tin with fresh-smelling Aroma Magic incense and a bamboo-
